Responsible Use of AI
The document below, "A Guide to Ethical and Responsible AI Use at ABC Unified School District," serves as a valuable resource for our educational community. It outlines the principles, strategies, and best practices for integrating AI tools in teaching and learning while promoting ethical and responsible use. By following these guidelines, we aim to foster a forward-thinking and collaborative environment that embraces the potential of AI while upholding our commitment to the highest standards of education.

Community Roundtables
We gathered members of the ABC Community to participate in three roundtable meetings in June to discuss the guidance document and the feedback received with an eye towards how we implement the use of AI across our schools in the 24-25 school year and beyond. Invites were sent out to key partner groups, but all were welcome! We even invited experts from LACOE and neighboring districts with experience deploying guidance on Generative AI to participate as well. And the efforts continue!
Community Roundtables will be held quarterly in the 2024-25 school year:
- November 7, 6pm - Fedde Middle School MPR
- February 12, 6pm - online
- April 9, 6pm - Location TBD
The primary goals of community roundtables are to:
- Raise awareness about AI in education, both broadly and specifically within the context of AI at ABC Unified.
- Collect insights from our community partners on our AI philosophy, approach, and tools to ensure a collaborative and informed strategy
- Address any concerns or questions our broader partner community may have regarding AI in education.
