Cerritos Elementary School Named a 2025 California Distinguished School
The California Department of Education recently announced the list of 2025 California Distinguished Schools, and the list of 336 elementary schools included Cerritos Elementary School.
Since 1985, the California Distinguished Schools program has been recognizing the state’s exceptional schools. This year, the program used data reported through the 2024 California School Dashboard to identify schools showing strong growth in academic achievement, ensuring a positive school climate, all while closing the achievement gap.
This marks the sixth time Cerritos Elementary School has received the California Distinguished School award, having previously earned the honor in 2000, 2008, 2014, 2018, and 2023. Additionally, the school was recognized nationally as a 2021 Blue Ribbon School.
Cerritos Elementary School will be formally recognized at the California School Recognition Program Awards Ceremony this May, where schools from across the state will gather to celebrate their achievements.
